Physical activity is enormously beneficial to our health, but we have to pay special attention to our skin. And is that environmental agents can be very harmful to our skin, without taking precautions.
First of all, it is important to consider if our favorite sport constantly forces us to suffer the ravages of chlorinated water, ultraviolet radiation, excessive sweating, extreme cold, wind and dehydration. If so, let us consider the following tips:
• Activities such as cycling, spinning, aerobics or jogging involve a great waste of water. It is therefore important to hydrate well before, during and after their normal routine, because the skin thereby compensating for the lost moisture. In the specific case of the face due to the high amount of toxins that are released by intense physical activity, you should clean it well after practice has ended.
• If you perform the above activities outdoors, never forget to use sunscreen with UVA and UVB filters. This will prevent damage from ultraviolet radiation, thus resulting in healthier skin that will not age prematurely.
• If your sport is swimming, it is important that after a bath apply a good moisturizer for both face and body. The hair is especially damaged by chlorine, so it can be washed with products rich in proteins and vitamins. • If your favorite physical activity takes place on the mountain like skiing, mountaineering or hiking, do not forget the sun, wind and cold will be relentless with your skin.
