* Exclusion of the causes of allergy,
* Cosmetic treatment,
* Treatment of stress
* Drug therapy orally
* Treatment of itching,
* Anti-inflammatory treatments or outbreaks,
* Treatment of superinfections,
* Pharmacotherapy topic
* Phototherapy,
* New immunomodulators.

Exclusion of Allergy Causes

Cosmetic Treatment

fungalAthlete’s foot is a fungal infection of the skin and the most common fungal infections. Recent studies estimate that 25% of the population of developed countries suffer this evil at some point in their lives.

The most common symptoms are: dry skin, brittle and flaky in the affected area. Itching and burning, sores or blisters, thickening and discoloration of the nails.

This type of fungi, called dermatophytes, thrive in warm, moist areas, so the infection increases in summer time. It is a highly contagious infection that is spread by direct contact with items such as shoes, socks, bedding, carpets and other surfaces such as swimming pools, showers, gyms, saunas and locker rooms, among others.

Halloween face painting, health risk

face paintingA new report recently issued by Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, warning of the health hazardscause facial paint that could used especially by children and young people in celebrations like Halloween.

After evaluating ten products facial paint types widely available via the Internet at craft shops or Halloween, the researchers found that:

“The ten facial products containing lead paint, and 6 of 10 had known skin allergens such as nickel, cobalt or chromium, at levels above the recommendations of industry surveys,” said Stacy Malkan, cofounder of the campaign coauthor of the report and author of Not Just a Pretty Face, published in 2007, which talks about potentially dangerous ingredients in cosmetics.

Malkan said the new report that “unfortunately, we found lead in all of them” and according to experts agree the exposure to lead can cause behavioral and developmental problems.

The research found that it had problems with the label as some products claiming to be hypoallergenic, but they were not, while a product “announced in the package as hypoallergenic and nontoxic, and had some of the highest levels of nickel, cobalt and lead, “said Malkan. (more…)

Patient age: Under 2 years old or very old.

Photosensitivity reactions are those important clinical and produced abnormal, triggered or aggravated by exposure to light, usually sunlight. Unlike fototoxia, skin overreacts and does not play only an increase of tonality, but appear eczema lesions, blistering, etc …

Fototóxia

It is the increased absorption of sunlight by making contact or drugs or chemicals, or sometimes by alterations in the metabolism of persons or in certain diseases. The injuries that occur are the same as sun exposure produces only more intense and appear less exposure time.

1. Fototoxia induced by drugs.

It is a cutaneous adverse reaction due to systemic or topical exposure of a drug and light. The chemicals may be responsible, in addition to drugs, cosmetics and industrial products. The reaction can occur in any individual, is required and dose-dependent, and essentially it is an exaggerated sunburn.
